What's happening in ELA
All assignments can be found on Google Classroom.
I have office hours from 2:05-2:35 every weekday. My mic and camera will be off, but I am in the meet, just say hello.
9/15: We went over what our warm-ups will look like and how we will use them for attendance and for practice with reading and analysis skills. Each class will start with a warm-up activity from now on and can be found under the "warm-up" heading on Google Classroom. Students then had to choose one of the three ideas they free-wrote about last time in order to create their manifesto. I provided mine as an example.
9/11: We took a look at this website and the different resources that are here. Then we looked at some manifesto examples in order to gather notes about what characteristics manifestos tend to have. Finally, students tried to pick their strongest belief, goal, and wisdom gained in order to complete a free-writing assignment that tried to imitate the characteristics of a manifesto.
9/9: Well, that was weird. Today students filled in a form to give me some ideas about this year in ELA and then we worked on brainstorming some of our beliefs, goals, and wisdom in order to create a personal manifesto. Nice to meet everyone, though it was hard to really meet you all this way.
